Thanksgiving Rants
I know everyone has done their Thanksgiving meal. Now here it is the day after Thanksgiving and now we have less than thirty days until Christmas. I think this is probably the craziest time of year. You put all of the holiday Black Friday Specials out there and all of the madness that goes with it. I wish someitmes we could go back to the easier and older times of life where the holiday actually meant you soent time with your family. I don't think people should be out seeing how much money they can spend in each ither, I wonder uf sometimes especially kids nowadays actually know what the true meaning if the holidays actually is. As I stated un my earlier posts. I love my family. At this time of year when many families are out of work and struggling to make bills I feel like we all need to remember what the true meaning fo the holidays is. Now that I have finished my holdayt rant I hope everyone has had a wonderful thankgiving and look forward to a hopeful better year

Hi!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post! And I agree with you 100%. It is crazy and totally stupid to go overboard buying gifts for Christmas when that is not what the season is about. God gave his Son as a gift to us, so that we may recieve salvation if we believe and have faith in Him. I'm not saying it is wrong to celebrate, but celebrate for the right reason. It's about love to our family, friends, and even people we don't know. I have raised my kids this way. They don't expect much, but I always manage to surprise them some how. I believe in buying one or two goods things that are needed, instead of 10 dumb things that will be discarded a week later.
Thank you for opening this conversation. I really like following your thoughts!
My boyfriend and I are having a hard time getting by paycheck to paycheck and with having 5 kids between us it is not going to be easy to do much for Christmas and at this point I would rather save the money and just take the kids on a nice vacation this summer so that we can spend time together as a family. We finally had a chance to take the kids to St. George this last summer and it was so wonderful and the kids had a great time.
ReplyDeleteI think we have gotten so far away from the true meaning of the holidays. We rush and worry over what gifts to get, and we do not take time to sit down and enjoy what we have. We are so blessed if we have a roof over our heard, food to eat, and clothes on our back, but we want more. Thanks for the chance to vent.
