Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

Im wanted to drop in and say hi!!! snd merry Christmas to all/. I have to jump in and say today turned out to be a wonderful holiday!!! We didn't think we would be able to do much for the kids but we were sble to give them a nice christmas. Hubby aslo surprised me with a new computer, I am sOOOOOO  excited. I wil;l be able to keep all my schoolwork on here. My other computer wasn't that old but we decided that I needed one with a faster processor and we gave my oldest son it for Christmas , I had to laugh you would have thought we gave him gold. I was able to do a few things for hubby so I am happy. All hapiness aside though ,. I do have a question is it me or does the holidays bring out the ugly side of some people???  We just found out that my nephew and his new wife are going to welcome a new baby in about 8 months. His wife is also supposed to be shipping out to Iraq in a a few weeks. Well now she won't be going (THANK GOD) but he may have too. I wish them the best.  Anyway my sister in law upon hearing of what I would like to call is their good news, starts in about how she ( my nephews wife) should be court marshalled for getting pregnant instead of serving our country. Ok wait a minute here.....My nephew and his wife are both serving at Fort Hood , Texas, both of them are in the medical field in the army. She is an ER nurse and He is training to be a medic. Both trying to pursue a good career. i think iy is wonderful for celebrating theit love . Anyway instead of being happy she brings this out, Please tell me why people just can't be happy, especially for those women and men serving in the Armed forces, Oh well enjoy break and happy New Year!!!!

Hey everyone I just wanted to say Happy Holidays to all!!!! We are having a time here . We were stuck in the big snowfall that hit the mid Atlantic over the weekend. We got 22 inches of snow here. We haven't had that much snow here since 1996, I think was the last time Maryland saw a snow fall with that much snow. The kids really enjoyed it. My dog didn't like it, when he went to go outside we had to go find him hew sunk in the snow. The kids don;t have school so they are getting a holiday a little earlier, Anyway I hope everyone's family has a good Christmas. I know we will try . Good Luck to all and see you in the New Year!!!!!

I dont know about anyone else but this has been definitely one of those weeks, I know the end of the year is closing and christmas is around the corner we are all trying to get into the festive mood of the holidays. Io seem think that this time of the year brings out some of the worst in people. I had to run to the grocery store for smething easy for dinner, as I was walking in this woman was on her cell phone talking to  someine about a sexually transmitted disease she got from her boyfriend, SHe couldn;t have been any louder when she talked. Now I am sorry but the lasty time I checked the last thing you want to scream out in a a grocery store is that you have a disease I am here looking for dinner not someones personal life. The stores are even worse, There are so many people in there that you almosr feel like you are smashed into a can of sardines. The people in the stores and even the cshiers are all in a bad mood. It really makes you want to say lets get the holiday over with and move on. I am trying very ard to get into the festive mood this year. We decorated the outside with our christmas lights and did the tree over the weekend. We even took the kids to see the Lights on the bay christmas lights. It is a beach near us that puts up an enormous christmas display of light and you  drive through and listen to christmas music. it is very beautiful. I think to make this christmans better though I would love to see a white christmas. We havent had one of those in many years now. Well to everyone in class have a great Holiday and I will see you in seminar.

Rants 12/13

Okay everyone I know we are supposed to use this blog to post our thoughts about school but I am finding this thing is great just to release your thoughts out. I think that it is also a good one. I went to see my mom yesterday , her and I were chatting about the family, she informs me that my aunt was laid off on Friday. I am thinking okay this is great , thge company she worked for was a gym so I can understand cutbacks, but 2 weeks before christmas???  In another sentence she then tells me my cousin is bieng laid off on the furst of the year. Here is the really sad part, My cousins girlfriend is expecting their first child in like two weeks. My aunt lives with them ,. So Now how in the heck are they supposed to do anything,. I was laid off last year in 12/30 five days after christmas, I can understand how employers think, I know it is the end of the year but come on, I guess I go back to the same old thing about families and companies have no sense of Christmas spirit at all, I can understand how anyone is expected to survive. It seems like almost anyone you talk to knows someone whi has beem laid off, and families gettng evicted and foreclosed on. I really wish the government would get together and help out its own country first. It breaks my heart to see families devastaed the way they have been by this economy,. All I can say is my heartfelt prayers go out to everyone who is trying to survive nowadays, Good Luck to all and Happy Holidays!!!

So here we go again the news this morning talks about how hte president recieved the nobel peace prize. Lets look at this. He has been in office less than a year, He inherited a mess from the prior president.. There are still many people without work, and even more people losing there homes, and he recieves the nobel peace prize???  They are also getting  ready to send 30,000 more troops to Afganhistan when he promised to end the wars not send more troops........is this irony or what??? I know our president now did not create the mess we are in now, but come on. How many more of our sons and daughters have to die in countries that don't want us there to begin with, My nephews new wife deploys in several weeks, with him to possiby follow to Afganhistan. They are so young to lose their lives. I am still trying to figure out where justice is. As many of sit here and try to figure how to keep the lights on and the bills paid. It is just enough to survive these days, It is pretty pathetic that we are going to put more money into wars with countries that hate us and my neighbors and myself are still trying to figure out how to take care of our families and possibly provide a christmas for the kids, I think the American People should be the ones recieving the Nobel Peace Prize., We are the ones that are doing without and our families are losing loved ones for no reason, The 1.4 million dollar prize that goes along with the peace prize would put food on the table for many families, I am just astonished that families like myself who need help can;t get ir but yet we ship and provide food to families overseas. The economy is not going to straighen itself out over night but lots of families can't hold on either, what do we do??? send troops and spend more money we dont have I guess it is just p[lain ironic isn;t it???

Rants 12/8

I have to say that I am starting to like this blogging thing. I know I haven't written much about actual school work per say but I do enjoy putting my thoughts online. I have to start out by saying I got really disgusted with the news again this week., I have been laid off since 12/30/2008 almost a year. If it had not been for the Employment Compensation extension by the government I don't think I would not have made it this far.On Tuesday I recieved a letter from unemployment stating that they had granted an extension to the unemployment package for another 14 weeks. Yet at the bottom it also stated that the EC benefits would be starting to be phased out at the end of December. How can you send a letter ro someone telling them you will be recieiving an extension and yet the benefits will begin bewing phased out?? This crap makes absolutely no sense. I know they are saying economy is getting better but I still dont see it. I do see the prices of food going up. They were supposed to have come down when the gas prices did. I still have nor seen that happen. I also saw on my local news atation where they did a piece on how toy companies were making and lowering prices on some toys so that people copuld afford to shop and by them. If companies are willing to llower prices for toys why can;t they do same thing for food and things people need just to survive. I still can't figure out where this country gets its priorites at. I sat the other day and listen to president Obama talk about sending 30,000 more troops to Afghanastan. It breaks my heart. my nephew is in the military and so is his new wife. His wife is an OR nurse and she is being deployed to Iraq for a year in January. They have been married less than four months. I also listened this morning and they were having a summit at the White House about how to get people back to work. I don't know if it just me but what is wrong with this picture??? We are going to send more troops to countries that don't want us there and spend billions of dollars and yet here in the United States (our own country) the unemployment rate is at 10.2%. I can't understand where the government logic is. Why not spend the billions for the war in our own country. I understand there are alot of oppressed countries out there. I married into a military family but when I got to the bus stop every morning and 6 of my closest neighbors including myself are still without work. We have all been looking but not 1 in 6 can find a job, We all come from different backgrounds too. It is scary. I wish this country would get its head out of its own hind parts and start taking care of its own people before we keep invading other countries and going into debt more and more and more. I really feel bad for families out there. I have been blessed enough to at least have my fiance still working and I am able to collect unemployment but eventually that will all come to an end. I wish everyone in class good luck this holiday season and hopefully we can all look toward a better future and year in 2010.
